For manufacturers

How we take your line into the US.

For manufacturers in Europe, Asia and Latin America who make openings products and want US sales without opening a US office. Five steps, one accountable partner, and a straight answer at every stage.

The process

Five steps from first call to US orders

  1. Fit check

Before anything else, we check whether your line can win in the US. If it can't yet, we tell you plainly and show you what to fix.

    What we do

    • Review your range against US specifications and buying habits
    • Compare your pricing with what US distributors expect to pay
    • Map the standards and listings your category usually needs
    • Spot the gaps: data sheets, test reports, imperial sizes, lead times

    What you get

    • A clear answer: go, not yet, or no
    • A prioritized list of what to fix first
    • Introductions to labs and consultants where testing is needed
  2. Go-to-market plan

A US plan written for your product, not a generic export plan.

    What we do

    • Position your line against the US brands you will meet
    • Choose target segments: hospitality, healthcare, multifamily, office, education
    • Build a US price list, discount structure and terms
    • Prepare samples, literature and data sheets in US format

    What you get

    • Clear positioning, on one page
    • A US price list and terms structure
    • A sample and literature kit ready for reps and distributors
  3. Channel build

The US openings market is local. We build your coverage territory by territory.

    What we do

    • Select independent rep agencies that fit your category
    • Introduce your line to Division 8 distributors
    • Agree territories and terms with each partner, with you
    • Train reps and distributors on your product

    What you get

    • Named reps and distributors in each territory
    • A territory map you can see at a glance
    • A channel that knows how to sell your product
  4. Specification and projects

Openings are sold long before they are bought: in the specification.

    What we do

    • Present your products to architects and specification writers
    • Prepare submittal packages and support quotes
    • Follow projects from bid to purchase order
    • Answer questions on lead times, shipping and warranty

    What you get

    • Your products written into project specifications
    • Quotes answered quickly and correctly
    • Orders, with follow-up after delivery
  5. Growth

Once the first territories are working, we widen the map.

    What we do

    • Represent your line at trade shows such as DHI conNextions
    • Report regularly on pipeline, quotes and orders
    • Open new territories and market segments
    • Bring US market feedback back to your product team

    What you get

    • Regular reports you can act on
    • A growing territory map
    • Product ideas straight from the US market

  • An export price list in US dollars, with Incoterms
  • Samples, and a way to ship them quickly
  • Realistic lead times and capacity for US orders

FAQ

Questions manufacturers ask

How do you get paid?

A monthly retainer plus a commission on sales.

The retainer covers the work of opening the market: the fit check, the US plan, building the channel and getting into specifications. That work happens months before the first orders. The commission ties our income to your results as orders ship. We agree the amounts with you in writing before we start.

How long does it take?

It depends on your category and on how ready your product is for the US. The fit check and the plan come first.

Building a channel and getting into specifications takes longer, because commercial projects are specified months before doors and hardware are ordered. After the fit check we give you a realistic timeline for your product.

What do I need to have ready?

See the list above. Most manufacturers have part of it already. The fit check shows what is missing and what to do first.

Do I need a US company or a warehouse?

Not necessarily to start. Many manufacturers first sell to US distributors on export terms, then decide on a US company or local stock once volume and lead times call for it.

We help you think it through. Legal and tax questions go to your own advisers.

Do you represent competing lines?

No. We take one line per category, so the lines we represent never compete. Because we represent WKS Door Systems, we are not looking for other wood door or wood frame manufacturers.

Which territory do you cover?

The United States, nationwide. We build coverage state by state through independent rep agencies and distributors. We are based in Hermosillo, Sonora, a few hours from Arizona, and travel across the US regularly.
